Design & Decor Trend Alert - Fall, 2014

It’s the first day of Fall which means it’s time to revamp! Out with the old and in with the new. A new season deserves a new style, so here are some of my favourite trend alerts for this new season:

Accessories!

PILLOWS, PILLOWS, PILLOWS, and add a bold patterned throw for fun! Layer up for Fall with lots of colourful pillows to brighten up those chilly, grey days and have a great throw to keep you cozy! Have your pillows custom designed, reversible so you can make sure you get all your favourite colours and patterns!

Bold Light Fixtures!

Light, bright and beautiful. Make a statement this Fall; add sparkle to your kitchen or bathroom with a featured light fixture. Dimmers can be installed easily to allow for a comfortable transition from day to night, setting the perfect mood for entertaining guests, or relaxing with a glass of wine and a book.

DIY Art!

A simple way to fill empty space on a wall is by framing fabric. Choose a fabric that includes the colours you wish to accessorize your room with; you’ll pull the colours in this DIY art out as accents around the room. You can choose several different sizes, two to three large frames, or several smaller frames, depending on your style and preference. It’s quick, easy and inexpensive, and will make a strong impact.

Round Furniture!

Live Outside the Box; it’s what we’re all about here at LOTB Studio, and this season it’s all about incorporating more round elements into your home. Trade out that old square ottoman for a round one. Find an antique round table and refinish it to bring it back to life. Round dining tables encourage socialization during meals and are a great way to change the flow of a room from hard and boxy to open and airy, plus you can always squeeze in another guest for dinner!
